Churrascaria Plataforma

A couple weekends ago, our friends Hughie and Hana invited us to dinner at Churrascaria Plataforma. We were both excited and were instructed to only eat a light breakfast. I’ve only been to a churrascaria in Brazil (and that was many years ago) but I love the idea of a meat buffet! When we went to the churrascaria on vacation, we also saw a show after dinner; I recall wanting to pass out the entire time because I was literally in a meat coma.

We met on Sunday night at the restaurant started at the regular buffet – my first plate:

I started off with some easy foods – octopus, sushi, cheese, shrimp cocktail and beets. We moved onto the meat right away because the filler was good but not great. Here’s Hana in the background picking up her first piece of meat:

We ate a lot of bacon wrapped beef tenderloin, skirt steak, lamb, sausages, baby back ribs, short ribs and so much more. Ken and Hughie finished before me and Hana! We still had a little room for dessert and ordered the coconut flan:

And the tiramisu:

Hughie drove us home and we were waddling into our building because we were both so stuffed! It was a great dinner and we had a lot of fun hanging out with Hughie and Hana – I can’t wait until they’re back from Korea so we can go out again!

(Paperback) Outstanding job on another year of Michelin rveeiws. Contains a great variety of listings w/ short, creative descriptions of each restaurant. Places include veterans like French Laundry and Manresa (no surprises), as well as exceptional restaurants long deserving of recognition like Sawa Sushi and Alexandar’s Steakhouse. It’s an excellent book for many people who want to find those places you’ll want to come back to, and for those who want to spend time enjoying food instead of sifting through yelp rveeiws.
