For our first dinner in the hamptons, we decided to go somewhere casual – Canal Cafe by the water:

They were closing the kitchen as we arrived but since we were such a large group, they were able to accommodate us (after a little begging since we were all starving). We started off with Manhattan clam chowder – a little watery but surprisingly good (both Ken and I ordered the Manhattan clam chowder). For our entree, Ken ordered the flounder sandwich:

And I ordered the lobster sandwich:

Look at how much lobster was in the sandwich:

The flounder sandwich Ken ordered was a little too plain for me so we ended up doing our initial half-way switch but then ended up switching again (something we actually do a lot because our tastes are quite different). The lobster sandwich had a bad meat to bread ratio so I ended up eating the lobster without the top of the bun. The lobster was a little tough and didn’t have enough mayo for my tastes, but still pretty decent.

On another note, their margaritas are really delicious and they use fresh limes (not lime juice with corn syrup). We all ended up ordering a round and almost wanted to order another because they were so fresh.

All of us at dinner:

After dinner, we walked back to our car and headed out for the night. The bar ended up being a little on the strange side so we went home, create a bonfire on the beach, and ate s’mores on the beach until we had to be rolled back to our rooms:
