Taqueria el Farolito
On our way from Napa Valley to San Francisco, we got the idea to go to the mission district to grab tacos before heading to the hotel. We looked up the highest rated place on yelp and found Taqueria el Farolito:
Funnily enough, when I walked in, I realized that I had come to the restaurant a very long time ago (possibly in 2005). I had the burrito that time, but was in the mood for tacos that day so I went with the tacos and Ken ordered a burrito. I ordered a pork taco (al pastor) and a steak taco:
And Ken ordered a burrito (it was so big that I had to place the tacos next to it for scale):
While you wait, you’re given chips and there’s a salsa bar where you can grab salsa for your chips or your meal:
The tacos were really good – I love pineapple with pork (only in tacos) and this hit the spot. Ken also liked his burrito and had trouble finishing it (but managed to finish with a little help from me). I didn’t feel great afterwards and ended up not being able to eat for three days (not sure if it was because of the tacos or because of ad hoc the day before, but I was in bed for the majority of the weekend after we had the tacos and only got up for wedding festivities!)
