I JUST found the pictures for the dinner I had at BLT Steak to celebrate David finishing a big project so today’s post will mostly be pictures! Laura made reservations at BLT Steak because they share a love of steak and wanted to celebrate David’s completion of hack day (or something like that). We met up around 9 and sat down in a large booth of the crowded restaurant. We started with some pate with bread:
We were all so hungry that the bowl disappeared in a matter of minutes, but they happily brought around more pate for us to enjoy before we took our orders. We decided that we would do one order from the pre-fixe menu and then an order a la carte. After we placed our order, a waiter came by with BLT’s famous popovers:
Chef Laurent’s popovers are so popular that they also come with a little card with the recipe so you can recreate them at home. Laura really likes them, but I wasn’t a fan because I thought they smelled weird (I think it was just the cheese they used). They were very flaky on the outside but had very chewy innards. We started with some thick slabs of bacon:
And goat cheese croquettes:
Both were really delicious (can you go wrong with bacon OR fried cheese?) We were pretty happy with the appetizers and were getting really excited for our steak to arrive (but already feeling a little full since we had popovers, pate, bacon, AND cheese before our main courses even arrived!) Our two steaks:
We also ordered a side of mushrooms and shredded brussel sprouts:
The steaks were really flavorful and we ate the majority of them, but saved the last couple of pieces from both cuts because we had to save room for dessert! For dessert, we ordered the ice cream sundae with hot fudge:
The mint chocolate chip ice cream tasted very earthy because they used fresh mint (it was also extremely creamy) and we added the brownies they gave us into the sundaes to make the dessert even more decadent:
Us at the end of dinner:
I’m excited to try the other BLT restaurants, especially BLT Fish and BLT Prime and can’t wait to see what other great food Chef Laurent Tourondel makes!
