St. Peter’s Catch
Over Labor Day weekend, my trainer, Anna, was kind enough to let me and Ken stay at her place in Montauk. We took the opportunity to rest and recharge (and play a round of golf at Montauk Downs!) and also eat some really good seafood. One place I kept reading about was St. Peter’s Catch, a fish market and restaurant that serves and sells what they catch. It’s off the main road in Montauk (Route 27) and very close to Anna’s house:
Ken and I walked in and there was basically one person taking care of the restaurant and fish market (so service was SUPER slow…at one point, I was wondering if they were actually going out to catch the fish we ordered!) Ken ordered the special, the fish tacos with a side of chips:
And also a side of corn on the cob because the corn was freshly picked:
And I ordered the lobster special:
The lobster took almost 45 minutes to get to me after I placed the order, but it was worth the wait. Ken and I both agreed that it was the sweetest and most tender lobster we’d ever had and the color of the shell was a shade of red that we’d never seen before on a lobster. The lobster special also comes with mussels that tasted a little bit like salt water and the sea, potatoes, and corn on the cob. Ken’s fish tacos were also amazing – the fish was fried but so tender and very well seasoned. We were thinking about placing another order for fish tacos and another lobster, but decided that we didn’t have enough time, especially since it took so long to get our orders.
I’d definitely return the St. Peter’s Catch – we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful day while we waited (and thought about going to the brewery next door while we waited but decided against it since we were going to play golf after lunch!)
