You’ve probably been wondering when I’m going to update again – it’s been almost two weeks since my last post but Ken and I have been so busy with traveling, wedding planning and work that I have been seriously neglecting my blog! An update – we have booked the music for the reception and the band for the actual wedding. Now we are trying to find the videographer, photographer and photobooth company for the wedding. Still no dress but I’m sure I will figure it out soon!

When we went to Chicago to meet with the band and to see our friends. We were also lucky enough to be there the same time our friend Kristen was celebrating her birthday! Drew, her husband, made dinner reservations at Hash House a Go Go for dinner and we met up with them for some interesting breakfast foods.

As we were walking to our seats, we saw that the servings were gigantic so Ken and I decided to share a main course and a salad instead of being super wasteful. The dishes were also super unhealthy and fatty so we decided to go all out for our entree choice. Since the salads were also really large and had lots of fried things in them, we picked the most plain one – the tomato salad (with dressing on the side) and a large Parmesan crisp.

For our main course, we ordered the chicken and waffles:

The chicken was very good; moist, good skin and excellently flavored, however, the waffles tasted more mushy like pancakes than the crispy texture I was looking for. They also do this annoying thing where they put rosemary and green onions on absolutely everything. Ken really liked the waffles and didn’t want to switch (who would want to

Peter was sitting next to me so I had the opportunity to take a shot of his plate as well, just to show you how large their portions were – he ordered the porkchops with mashed potatoes:

Their plates are gigantic and even their drinks are large – you can only order beers that are 32 ounces and their cocktails are huge, too! It was a little empty for dinner but I’m guessing it’s packed for the breakfast rush. I wasn’t a huge fan of their food but it was a fun celebration for Kristen’s birthday!
